Last year we were hugely proud to be able to partner with the guys behind Social Bite as they launched a crowdfunding campaign harnessing the power of craft beer to provide clean drinking water for people in Africa. Since then Brewgooder has been an incredible success; the Indiegogo campaign was backed by hundreds of people in exceeding its target, their Clean Water Lager has blazed a trail across the UK and Alan, Josh and their team have worked tirelessly ever since to turn great beer into clean water.

As they released a video diary recently we thought it would be cool to share!

A fortnight ago Alan and Zoe from Brewgooder travelled to the small villages of Chiluzi and Phirilongwe in Malawi to see first-hand the result of their campaign. The solar-powered water tanks and a new well has saved people in these two communities hours of walking to simply get the basic requirements we all take for granted. It is truly amazing to see the difference that the Brewgooder guys have been able to make to people’s lives in such a short space of time.

It was doubly cool to see the well in Phirilongwe named after our hometown (and sporting a Punk IPA badge to boot) – its impact could not have been achieved without the thousands of you who have picked up a can of Brewgooder Clean Water Lager or bought the beer on draft. Thanks to everyone who has been involved so far and be sure and bookmark the Brewgooder blog for more updates on how the campaign is progressing as they continue in their mission to #drinkbeergivewater.
