BREWDOG AUSTRALIA – WE ARE HEADING TO BRISBANE

BREWDOG AUSTRALIA – WE ARE HEADING TO BRISBANE

At BrewDog one of our main driving forces is to shorten the distance between ourselves and you guys – the people who drink our beer. For a while we have wanted to do something special for the many craft beer fans in Australia who have supported us since day one, despite being thousands of miles from Aberdeenshire. You guys rock. So we are heading your way to say thanks in person.

BrewDog Australia will come to life in the awesome city of Brisbane.

Australia is as dynamic a place as exists on earth at the moment when it comes to beer, and we are pitching up in the capital of Queensland with a mission. Firstly – to supply our BrewDog community there with super-fresh craft beer, proudly brewed in the Sunshine State. And secondly, to collaborate with as many Australian craft brewers as we can. We want to share what we know and learn as much as we can along the way. It’s going to be quite a ride.

We love the communities that craft beer has engendered around the world; this is the true yardstick for our industry, and the major point of difference with the mass-produced alternatives. Keeping those connections going is what we are about. Growing the market share for independent craft breweries in Australia is a major reason why we are about to embark in the biggest project yet for our company. And all points lead us to Brisbane.

Brissie is awesome. We loved it from the moment we first set foot there; the passion and knowledge of the beer community is infectious. It’s a cool place to live and just as cool a place to do business. As such we will be brewing our core range there but also rocking a number of small-batch brews featuring as many local ingredients as we can get our hands on. Just think what we can do with fresh Australian hops!

We are fully intent on hitting the ground running and construction will start in Brisbane very soon. Our brewhouse there will feature a state of the art brewery, canning line, taproom and restaurant and it’s going to be an incredible addition to an already incredible area. From now until the moment the first can of Aussie Punk IPA rolls off the production line we will keep you updated every step of the way.

Brisbane! See you soon…

As a Celt (Cardiff, South Wales) addicted to your beer I've always wanted to visit the brewery but it's just a bit too far for the day!
So when this news popped up in my mail I was a bit excited as I'll be visiting Brisbane this year, but it seems June is a bit soon for you guys...
Ben R 12.02.2018 @ 12:53am
Keep us informed if you need staff, I would be eager to work with the Brewdog team at the brewery.

Awesome news, really looking forward to seeing more of your rather excellent beers in NZ. One flight to Brissie will be much easier than my last visit to the Dog Tap - cheers!

I just moved back to Brissie after living in London for 16 years and used to love a few Brewdog tallies. This is brilliant news. Can’t wait to sample the restaurant as well and bring the local boys up for a tour. Congrats and best of luck

Great news as I have loved your brews from day 1 and would be very keen on joining any Australian EFP that may be floated. It gets even better because your proposed Brisbane location is literally 5mins down the road from me :)
anonymous 08.02.2018 @ 9:44am
Finally! Great news! I hope you expand to the main cities soon after!
Kerry 07.02.2018 @ 11:41pm
YAY! And this in the suburb next to mine. Please tell me you will be sharing some of your amazing AF beers here too for those of us who love beer but are allergic to alcohol?
:)

This is almost uncanny. My best mate move to Brisbane years ago and we love our ales, always have. I visited Brisbane once in January 2016 where I flew out to be his best man. Coz my employer were pains in the ass at the time I couldn’t get much leave from work so (on my kids life this is true) I flew out there from Newcastle Upon Tyne (via two transfers later) i spent 24 hours in Brisbane before flying back the next day, everything a bit blurry but remembering Brisbane was awesome. I have just bought shares in brewdog last month so it almost seems like fate that this place is being opened there! I’ve forwarded this story to him so he can spread the word and enjoy the goodness when it arrives! Good job brewdog!

At last !!
Go for it boys

I have sampled a lot of your beer over the years and as a shareholder i would be more than willing to taste the beer in austrailia just to check it is the same with the climate and humidity which is a lot different to here in Dundee

thanks

Ahh brisbane, a handful of serious craft venues and a handful of breweries around it. Pretty much as far from a hop field as you can get.
Odd choice of location considering everything but will be nice to see my EFP share value increase again.

Mark Robert / Alexander - We love the passion of the beer community in Australia so we are definitely considering an Australian Equity for Punks project to help grow that community even more :)
Tim 06.02.2018 @ 9:59pm
But you guys will be opening a pub in Melbourne too in the not too distant, right?
Karen 06.02.2018 @ 9:52pm
Oh this has made my day!!! So excited!! Might have to move to Brissie now to be closer! Will be there for the opening hopefully ????????
Richard 06.02.2018 @ 9:34pm
What a time to be alive in Brisbane! BrewDog literally on my doorstep, this is going to be dangerous for my wallet...
Allan 06.02.2018 @ 8:20pm
Love how you combined a serious piece about announcing a brewery with comedy. Beer knowledge... QLD... hahahah.

On a more serious note, hope you guys do a linked AGM or something out out of the brewery here.. QLD holiday as a tax deduction? Yes please :D
Alexander H 06.02.2018 @ 7:15pm
Great news, congrats!!! Do you plan any crowdfunding in Australia to that the locals can also become shareholders as US and UK Equity Panks? Any chance to share the location of the brewery on Google Map?
Ian Prise 06.02.2018 @ 7:07pm
@brewdog Pete H I've over 14000 Lego parts on order for this years AGM display which will be the Overworks. I prefer to build Lego models after the real thing is built. Too much stuff can change when it's being built and for some reason architects and building contractors don't like to conform to the Lego model if it's built first????
Peter T 06.02.2018 @ 6:39pm
Going to BRISBANE next Monday should have waited a wee bit longer to get proper beer not that xxxx
Mark Robert W 06.02.2018 @ 3:45pm
Can I ask, will brewdog be doing Equity for punks Australia shares, like the did for USA
Digger 06.02.2018 @ 2:54pm
This is amazing news. Emigrating to New Zealand this year so we can be safe in the knowledge that Brewdog should make it across there. Well done!
Tony S 06.02.2018 @ 2:41pm
Oh god do I have to go back to Brisbane, that's going to be really really hardwork!
Bernard K 06.02.2018 @ 12:49pm
Hoofing news. Its another one to visit on the bucket list. Well done Brewdog team!
Brewdog Pete H 06.02.2018 @ 12:37pm
@ianprise - you've only got 2 months before the AGM.
Have you got enough Lego ???
Carolyn 06.02.2018 @ 11:36am
Can I apply for the job of looking after your onsite dog?
Sid 06.02.2018 @ 10:36am
I'll admit I'm disappointed that you didn't choose somewhere a bit further south, like Melbourne, as Brisbane is a bit far for me to travel to claim my shareholder discount. You'll just have to open a brewpub here next then, to make up for the disappointment. ????
marc 06.02.2018 @ 9:49am
Nice one...looking forward to a good Scottish crafty beer. Come on the hibees from the Brisbane Branch
Nick from Brissy 06.02.2018 @ 9:38am
This is the absolute best news I've heard this year! I'm so stoked you guys chose Brisbane as your base! I will be keeping and eye out for any juicy and mouth watering jobs that may come available!
Ian Prise 06.02.2018 @ 8:42am
Get the Architect to run off an extra set of the drawings, just in case I need a set at some point.
DAN S 06.02.2018 @ 7:42am
That's awesome! Any chance of sponsoring me so I can live and work in brizzie for you guys?!? ????????
Brissychick 06.02.2018 @ 7:09am
Yay!!! You picked an awesome location to start the BrewDog story Down Under. Can't wait to sit in the taproom sampling fresh craft beer made in my home town. I'm sure this will be the start of a great Aussie adventure - before we know it there'll be Aussie BrewDog Brewpubs all over the country (fingers crossed). Bring it on!
Adam Gregory 06.02.2018 @ 6:42am
That's brilliant! I was thinking to myself recently that no anouncement had been made and stoked that it is Brissie.
Peter Rodrick 06.02.2018 @ 6:41am
Best news I have read all day!
Pete 06.02.2018 @ 4:25am
Aaaawesome news!!!!
